Have a community.
There are so many ways moms can get connected to other moms. Breastfeeding is one of them. It is so encouraging to be able to talk with other people that have different experiences and knowledge than we do; it tells us that we are not alone. Every woman has her own unique breastfeeding journey, and there is so much we can learn from listening. There is a community out there that will help answer questions, teach, encourage, and simply provide fellowship. I encourage all y’all to find a group to join, a community to get involved in, to share advice and love. Join a group prenatally, too, and be prepared before baby comes!
Here are some places where you can get connected with breastfeeding communities in the Charlotte area:
La Leche League: They have groups that meet all over the country and provide awesome support and help.
Lactation Link: Take classes on breastfeeding and get advice from lactation consultants.
Baby+Co: They facilitate a great community where you can learn about all things childbirth, parenting, and breastfeeding related.
